A Peaceful Christmas
Let the peace of Christ, to which you were indeed called in one body, rule in your hearts; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. (Colossians 3:15-17)
As Christians, our only source of authority on how we should live our lives is the word of God. We should trust what it says because it is God’s word to us. Our feelings, our experiences and flawed human intellect deceive us which ultimately puts us in a condition of no peace. Since God’s word is not man’s but God’s, we need to use the Bible everyday to guide and direct our thoughts, words, and our actions. If we let worry have its way, there will be no peace; if we let anger or bitterness or unforgiveness get in the way, there will be no peace. The Bible tells us that we promote peace by putting others before ourselves. With His strength we can overcome our struggles in life and live a life of peace!
