Direct Access
“Through Christ also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand.” (Romans 5:2)
In the Old Testament times, the thought of having direct access to God was unthinkable. After the tabernacle was built, only the high priest could enter the holy of holies, where God would manifest His presence, and only once a year for a very brief time. But the sacrifice on the cross by Jesus Christ made access to God possible for anyone who trusts in Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. Everyone who believes in Christ can “draw near with confidence to His throne of grace and will receive mercy and find grace to help in their time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). Because we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ, He escorts us “into the grace in which we stand.” Paul said, “I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians. 1:6).
We all fall into sin at times but our sin is not more powerful than the grace of God (Rom. 5:10). Worry and doubt have filled the lives of many people during this difficult time as the world watches and waits for the flattening out of the virus. Stay encouraged my friends and remember who you are in Christ and the constant access you have to Him. Let us pray for those who have great needs that only Christ can meet. Let us be wise and do the things that we have been directed to do and make sure our witness is pleasing to God during this time. Our prayer is that we will continue to grow close to God through this time, learning to trust Him more and more each day. Let us thank God for His persevering grace!
