Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence. Psalm 42:5
We live in a world today where many people are discouraged and without hope. They see their lives struggling to survive, unhappy in their jobs, unhappy in their relationships, unhappy at home and that is why people are turning to everything they can to bring them some source of peace and happiness. The psalmist is asking himself the big question, why? He realizes that his feelings of discouragement and despair have come because he has not put all his trust and hope in God. It seems he knew that when he put his trust and hope in God that God would deliver him from his discouragement. God will help us with His presence in our lives in our most intense times of despair and discouragement. Hope in God!
