A question many of us ask ourselves is “how can I really examine myself and know that I am a genuine Christian?” When Jesus Christ spoke in Matthew Chapter 5, the Jewish people He was speaking to had already decided for themselves what living right was all about. They developed their own process and system of what it took to be holy. The problem was it was all based on external self-made righteous and good deeds. Jesus put an end to that when He preached the sermon on the mount and gave everyone a new standard for living. If we want to examine ourselves the right way, if we want to examine ourselves God’s way, then we should let the Spirit of God compare our lives to the truth of the sermon on the mount in Matthew chapter 5. If we are truly the children of God then our lives should match the word of God. Read Matthew Chapter 5 and let us examine ourselves!
